Jake lost his father at 13 and before he could learn how to shave, he had to take up the role as a man of the house. A year later, tragic knocked on the door again and his little brother, Marcus died in a car accident. Jake was stuck in a downward spiral and lost his own identity in disbelieve and sadness. He tried to find relief and his own identity in drugs, alcohol, parties as well as an unhealthy relationship. He started to question the existence of God and he thought, since God wouldn't reveal himself to him, maybe the devil would. He started to look for spirits in haunted houses and thought, if he could proof that there's demons, then there would be a God. But would the demons reveal to him so he would believe that there is a God?
