Our Vision

Our vision is to be a platform for people to explore and discover their TRUE IDENTITY which is in Christ. Everything that we do and our very being would be meaningless if we didn't know our true identity. Many people base their identity on their careers, their status in life, their achievements, material possessions or wealth. However, we believe that our true identity can only be found in our Creator, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He encompasses all and only in Him will our true purposes be revealed. As we believe in this truth, we are transformed and our TRUE IDENTITIES SHINE FORTH!

The Story Behind True Portraits

At just 17 years old, Kenneth was living his dream as a photojournalist in Hong Kong. Life was exciting and full of purpose. His work was being recognized, opportunities were opening up, and he felt a deep sense of achievement. Like many young people, he believed his identity was closely tied to what he could accomplish.

Then everything changed.

At the age of 21, Kenneth suddenly lost his father. The grief was overwhelming. In the midst of that difficult season, he made the decision to leave behind his flourishing career and move with his widowed mother to Australia. They hoped a new beginning might help them escape the sadness they could not seem to shake.

Instead, it marked the beginning of a much deeper journey.

Arriving in Australia, Kenneth found himself starting over. Everything felt unfamiliar. He struggled with language and culture, returned to life as a student, and took on the responsibility of caring for his mother. The future seemed uncertain. The confidence he once found in his achievements began to fade, and life often felt lonely, repetitive, and empty.

"What the enemy meant for evil, God turned it for good."

The year after arriving in Australia, Kenneth's mother became a Christian. The following year, by God's grace, Kenneth also came to know his Heavenly Father. While their circumstances did not immediately change, his perspective did. His faith began to grow, and he learned to trust that the God who had carried him through loss was also the God who held his future.

Because of the grief he experienced at a young age, it took many years for Kenneth to truly rest in God's love. Gradually, he discovered that his identity was not found in success, achievements, or personal strength. Instead, it was found in Christ.

"Send out your light and your truth; let them lead me; let them bring me to your holy hill and to your dwelling!” (Psalms 43:3)

Throughout his Christian journey, Kenneth has come to believe that understanding our TRUE IDENTITY is one of life's most important discoveries.

Before we can know who we are, we must first know who God is.

When we understand that we are fearfully and wonderfully made by the Creator of the universe, and redeemed through the sacrifice of His Son, we begin to see ourselves differently. We realize that our value is not determined by what we do, what we own, how we look, or how others perceive us. We are truly loved and valued by God, everyone is unique and was created with purpose.

Photography has remained one of God's greatest gifts in Kenneth's lifestorytelling through photographs became second nature to him. Over the years, he learned that a photograph can be much more than a mere visual stimulation. It can reveal truth, preserve meaning, and communicate the stories that words often cannot.

This conviction eventually gave birth to TRUE PORTRAITS.

In a world where it is becoming increasingly difficult to distinguish between reality and artificiality, AUTHENTICITY has become a forgotten value. The only way to preserve our true identity, creativity, and all that God has entrusted to us is to faithfully practice and steward our gifts. In doing so, we preserve our God-given value and authenticity.

Today, Kenneth is emboldened to use the gift God has given him to tell the stories of those whose lives have been transformed and who have discovered their TRUE IDENTITIES. As God's people reveal His glory, it is our prayer that many others will hear and receive the Good News and also find their TRUE IDENTITY in Christ.

In a world where it is becoming increasingly difficult to distinguish authenticity from artificiality, TRUE PORTRAITS exists to celebrate genuine stories and God-given identity. It is built on the belief that every person has inherent worth, every life has meaning, and every testimony carries the power to inspire others.

Today, Kenneth is passionate about using photography and storytelling to share the stories of people whose lives have been transformed by God. His prayer is that through these stories, others may encounter the love of Christ, discover their true worth, and find their TRUE IDENTITY in Him.

Each TRUE Portrait is a unique story between God and man.
